Meditation: LA082-790123 Telescopic Infinity

Taught by Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khaisa Yogiji
Los Angeles January 23, 1979

This meditation will give you the extension into telescopic infinity

Sit in easy pose with a straight spine.

Relax the arms down with the elbows bent. Draw the forearms up and in toward the chest until the hands meet in front of the chest at the level of the heart. Face both palms toward the body and interlace the fingers uniting the hands. Pull the thumbs up and press the thumb tip together. Be sure to set the forearms in a position so they will be parallel to the ground. Once the forearms are parallel to the ground keep them that way for the entire meditation. Stretch from the shoulders and lebows, but keep the pressure on thumbs and fingertips light

Sit with the legs crossed or in a chair with the weight of both feet equally distributed on the ground.

Breathe as required for the mantra used. For the Hari Mantra or Mul Mantra inhale deeply and exhale completely as the mantra is chanted. For The Ramadasa Sasay sohung mantra inhale deep and chant the first phrase; take a quick braath and chant the rest.

Look at the tip of the nose

Mantra:

HAREE NAAM SAT NAAM HAREE NAAM HAREE, HAREE NAAM SAT NAAM SAT NAAM HAREE

Or

RAAMAA DAASSA SAA SAY SO HUNG

or

EX ONG KAAR, SAT NAAM, KARTAA PURKH, NIRBHAO, NIRVAIR, AKAAL MOORT, AJOONIE SAIBHANG GUR PRASAAD, JAP, AAD SACH JUGAAD SACH, HEBHEE SACH, NAANAK HOSEE BHEE SACH.

No length of time was given.

This meditation will give you the extension into telescopic infinity.

The first mantra relates to the formless, nirgun. The second mantra is sirgun, relating to form.

LECTURE

… It is surprising sometime we don’t have any musician and sometime we have lot of them. It’s called vibration, things come and things go, sometime they are more, sometime they are less. Sometime you are high, sometime you are low. That’s called life. But between that life there is an area of equilibrium. Bliss, anand, happiness, grace, these are your expressions. When out of the high and low you keep the mental body in the state of equilibrium into the polarity of that consciousness which relates your mental and magnetic field. Mental and?

Students: (——)

YB: Magnetic field at the same sequence that you do not lose the direction. Object and obstruct is the same. And what is obstructing the situation you know how to remedy it. And this all is computed by your brain at the same time, then you have knowledge. You know what knowledge you have? You pay two hundred fifty dollars, somebody press your head you see something unusual, you are enlightened, you have knowledge; this is not knowledge.

Whenever there is a conflict between mind and soul and mind and body, mind has to look to two sides, it must equally look and balance and tell you the way. That is called panth, that is called way. In polarity of equal consciousness when you get the equilibrium of effectiveness of your creativity then you are happy. Otherwise you are unhappy. Because you are unsure. You don’t know. So long in your life you treat the pattern of life as a pattern of you as a life and it is the life you follow, you cannot follow anything else. And when you follow your pattern you cannot follow your consciousness, period. Like it or not. And when your neurosis or neurotic or whatever tatic, patic, you got so many words, God bless you.

(Students’ laughter)

YB: But you are just a potato.

(Students’ laughter)

YB: Bake it or fry it, make chips out of it, means nothing, it is all here. Because once you follow the neurosis you cannot follow the consciousness, consciousness is not neurosis because neurosis is the pattern of life. What is an insane person? You go in a mental hospital and say I am king, I am king, he repeats it all the time. Even a king starts saying I am king, I am king, they put him in a mental hospital, the guy is out of brain. A record you play, if it gets a cut somewhere and say oh (?) you say it is out of service. Because why? It repeats the same thing again and again. But on the other hand you have to repeat one thing again and again. Because that stimulate the stimuli of the stimulant in the stimulation of your own self of the hypothalamus and that’s called japa. Sat Nam, Sat Nam, are you mad? No, you say Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, nobody will tell you, you are mad. But you say I am king, I am beautiful, I am beautiful, they say oh he has gone crazy. That is the difference between the jap, because jap is a tapa. You repeat it, you repeat it because you are conscious of it, you are conscious of it because your consciousness is Infinity.

Therefore in japa you relate to the Infinity, Infinity relates to the consciousness, and consciousness tells you that you are doing something for that higher one. And anybody who relates to the higher one is the higher one. That’s why when you say Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam you didn’t say I am king, you say truth is my identity, truth is my identity, truth is my identity, people love you. You don’t like it? You should like it because that is what you got the birth and life for.

Why you when you wear white you look saints? Because white is the Infinity of seven colors. White is the Infinity of seven colors, it’s the most difficult color to wear. As it is most difficult to do Sat Nam Sat Nam Sat Nam but anything else you can say. And you don’t want to say Sat Nam Sat Nam all the time, why not? You want to gossip. Why don’t you gossip that way it should be a gossip with Infinity. Because you have fear of the unknown, you do not know in you is the unknown. Don’t you think tomorrow you will live? Don’t you think tomorrow you will live? You do hope. You have a hope, right? Tomorrow you will live, right? Then that’s unknown to you. What will be tomorrow? There maybe earthquake, there maybe rain, there maybe beautiful sun, somebody may die, somebody may live, you may have to go, what is tomorrow? That is your unknown of today.

Each today has a tomorrow, each known has a unknown, why to have fear? Because you are neurotic that is why you are afraid. Guru says nirbhao, nirvair. First you have to be fearless, then only you can become revenge less, otherwise you will take revenge, you will not like to say things which are good. Why? Because you do not know God, God is G O D, good is G O O D. And when you do not know good, you do not know God, then goodies won’t come to you. You will be without everything. With everything you will be without everything. You will have food, you will have house, you will have children, you will have everything. But you won’t have one thing, it’s called bliss, happiness, equilibrium.

Concept cannot be achieved through conceit. You say is it immoral? Oh it is not for you. Is it illegal? Not for you. For a thief by profession thievery is not illegal. So long he is caught not, it’s not illegal. Therefore under your ego you can do what you want to do. And you can do and you should do. But where it takes you that you must know. Taking to truth is not knowing the truth, if you know the truth you are useless. You will feel more guilty. If you do not know the truth perhaps you are innocent, you are ignorant, you can live, but when you know the truth and you don’t live, then you are in pain. Then you need scotch on the rock. Because you want to make yourself a stone because you don’t want to think. You can’t think. Why you should think? Thinking for higher consciousness or getting to the means and the ways and trying to do something that you must think and you must reach the unthinkable, think to reach the unthinkable. Know the? But if you can’t then thinking will make you guilty and miserable. Path is correct, concept is right, happiness is granted, nobody is born to be unhappy, I said you are born in the image of… your background is very good, read it. At least speak it. Man is born in the image of?

Students: God.

YB: But why he doesn’t hold good? You want to be beautiful, you want to be beautiful not the way God made you, you want to be beautiful by your own concept. To have something is easy. To have something is… but it is very difficult to maintain it. When you maintain something you sustain something, you sustain something you sacrifice something, you sacrifice something, you enjoy something, you enjoy something, you feel the grace about something, you grace something you experience something and that is what holds you in the end. I am I am. You don’t want to sacrifice. For you sacrifice is painful, you are afraid of it. You don’t want to be near it. If somebody challenges you, you say let us compromise. Why? Somebody is not challenging you, somebody is not interested in challenging you, he is challenging your values. You have them or not. If you have them stand out. If not forget it.

People told me many things. People abuse me, slander me, talk lot of things against me. But at least they remember me. Is it not fair to only know that I am being remembered directly or indirectly by so many people? That is not the best PR? Look what funny dress I wear. I don’t do makeup, no lipstick on my lips, no mascara, nothing, no super eyelashes,

no artificial nails, nothing. But still people talk about me and some people sit down for hours and hours and hours and hours they do fashion and when they come out, rain falls, and whole thing washed away.

(Students’ laughter)

What is your beauty? Your beauty is not what you are but you are a man of beauty, when you sustain your manhood. Your beauty is not what you are, you are a woman, it is not beautiful if you do not sustain womanhood. And you are nothing if you do not sustain humanhood. Humane, humane, you are the radiant self, that’s what literal meaning of human is. Hue. The halo. (?) now you are the halo, now you are the radiance. But without radiance nobody knows you. You are dark. That light should be your fashion, for that you should work, not sitting before a mirror and decorating for two hours but just meditating and decorating and bringing the light, generating the energy within you so that you can radiate. And it is the radiance which is beautiful, not you.

If you live in Christ consciousness you are Jesus Christ and you know what is what. And it is that essence, essence of life is life not the life you live. You say you live you don’t live. You say you are beautiful you are not beautiful. How can you call yourself beautiful? You think with this powder and this lipstick and the fashion you think you are beautiful. If you put a skin of a lion over donkey is it going to roar? What crazy you are. What’s wrong with you? You have reached the moon, mars, Venus and so many places, you can’t reach one single truth?

Essence in abstract is the essence known in the polarity of the conscious magnetic field in equilibrium and balance with the magnetic field of the totality around you. That is surrounding. You beautify the surrounding, surrounding beautifies you and that is by the light, by the radiance, by your beauty, by your charm, what you are, if you a human first, man next or a woman next, then you must prove it. But you can’t, you have no values. Somebody tells you, “Hey, what are you doing.”

“Aah! I am doing nothing.”

You are definitely doing something. Say it I am doing this and this. Because you are not consciously doing it. You can’t explain, you can’t express, you are not in a position to do that. That is not. You think physical body which you got,

‘Guru kripa tey bhagat kamayi, taye manas dehi paayi.’

You earned it, you went from eight point four million lifecycles to get it. And now you are blowing it. Why you are blowing it? Because you do not know. You are afraid, you come here to know the unknown. Unknown is Infinity. In the rational mind there is a question, in the question there is a reason, in the reason there is a cause, in the cause there is an effect and if you live cause and effect you do not know what are you living for. Aren’t you fool? Your life is the cause and your life is the effect of the cause you earned it. And now having a magnetic consciousness of possibility to know the Infinity you are still dead. I want to live for my job, I love… . It is very funny. Some of you sing every time Sutdara, Sopreet… I have fallen in love with my wife and my child. That’s my end. My son is this, my wife is this, my land is this, my house is this. This is a hotel. Its name is what? What is the name of your hotel? Earth. It’s a hotel, maximum stay granted is sixty-five years average, which in the light year of life consciousness is point zero, zero, zero, put nine zero eight point four million times, which almost comes to nothing.

(Students’ laughter)

What should I say? When you are warm, you are young, hey how you feel? Great. And after couple of years hey how you feel? Great. And after a little more time, hey how you feel? Great. Even great changes because that fire under great changes. Potent, I am very potent. And one day this potent will become potato. And then there will be a potent potato. God, what are you doing? I mean what’s wrong with you? One man my boyfriend, my husband, my this, my that, all the relatives and there is no relationship with yourself. Inner self is barren, knowledge of the unknown is not known, consciousness has not found equilibrium, scale of the sequence are always leading to consequences and everybody knows “Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” And you want to earn it differently? And you will succeed

We ask you to come for sadhana you goof. Why didn’t you come for Sadhana? I got up, but I slept. You couldn’t get up. See how crumpy you are. Lazy. Indisciplined, unbearably bearable, you want to get up and you can’t get up. You in you want to get up and you can’t get up? You want to go and you feel tired? There is some gap. Something is missing. Something is wrong. You want to smile and you cry, does it happen? But you want to get up and you couldn’t get up. What heart attack? No. Your consciousness wants you to get up, your body is not in relation to concept of the consciousness is acting right. There is difference. And this is the problem, this is the problem with all of you, this problem will continue to be in all of you, why? Because faith moves the mountains, otherwise stones are heavy. You are very heavy, you are stone, you can’t get up.

God gave you breath of life and in the morning just to praise the lord, thanking Him, starting your day right, preparing yourself mentally and consciously you are supposed to get up and you don’t? How you think your day will pass? What is the guarantee? You drive the car, you reach the time and space. Time and space will kill you. If you say it Aad gurey namey, jugaad gurey namey sat gurey namey, Siri Guru devey namey. Five seconds. You have missed the longitude and latitude of that space, accident won’t happens We can’t miss the time, but we can always miss the space, that’s why we say we start anything start with the name of God, miss the space. I forgot it. Well, you forgot it, you got it. You cause the cause, you must face the effect.

What I am trying to say to you is what you think is poor is not. What you think is rich is not. What you think is great is not. What you think is small is not. All in all is the all which is the one. You are all pawns of that maya. Then find Him, find It, find Her, if you are a Shakti poojari, find Her, if you find God Him as a man, I don’t know what you want to find. He, She and It, Heshit, find heshit.

(Students’ laughter)

You love when I say heshit. In India they call it ishth. It almost sounds the same. Ishth means the unified concentrated object where the faith dwells. Creativity in polarity of consciousness in the both hemisphere of your brain, your eastern brain and your western brain one has the initial initiative of initiative, the other has the initiation towards the projection of that initiation into the future and both polarity has a idea to come in the central object of you which is reality of you and beyond reality there is nothing pain, despair, anger, unhappiness and everything. My dear friends, if dollars can buy happiness, come on, I’ll buy per pound, how much? Million dollar a pound? I’ll pay. Take the Shah of Iran; yesterday Shahenshah of Iran. Today nobody wants him.

‘Khin Maei Rao Runkkar Karhi, Rao Rankkar darey.’

In the moment he makes a king a beggar, beggar a king and he closes them out. Who he is? Who is bigger than me? Who can tell me? You are talking out of ego, you donkey, you are bragging. (?) that’s what you are. All you know is to brag. I am beautiful, I am very wise, I am very technical. Shut up. You are nobody. Even the body you got is a gift. You do not know why you have two eyes, why not three? Every year the motor company changes the motor and the model. But your motor company comes out almost the same. Two eyes, one nose, one mouth, this is a old, old, you are antique. That’s why you are very valuable.

In one conference all these yogis and swamis were sitting and they were all wise than me. Normally I am always not wise among the wise. So they asked me one thing, “Why man is supreme?”

I said, “Because man is antique. Antique is always valuable. Man is so antique nobody knows how to make a superman or other man, just duplicate man.”

He said, “No, no, no, now there is a science as known the process of making a man out of the genes.”

I said, “Well, then genes are very antique. Genes of the interrelation of the dance of the atom.” I said, “We know it is very antique dance of Shiva.” Trikuti Tarna Pathiya, Satyam. That we know it. It’s an old, old, old thing. Shiva danced.

“What do you mean by Shiva dance?”

Electron, proton and neutron dance all the time. It is that dancing inter-polarity of relationship which is the source of every life. Do you know? When the blood is warm you are very warm and when it is cold, then tea, coffee, whisky, what not? Why? Because you relate with the outer stimulant, you do not create the inner stimulants. Have you seen a holy man very, very hardworking and tired, but in ecstasy glow, the words have power, if they go to heart. He talks and you enjoy.

Who are you all? Do you know who are you? Come on, tell me. Speak, what is wrong with you? Creatures of God. Somebody saved you. No, creatures of God? Which God? The one God, no two. How many gods are there? I see the room full with Gods. You are all God. One God everywhere. In each single godly body. Is that true? But you said only one God, therefore you have one only. Why this multiple? Why this multiple? You know what happened? I told you the bang theory yesterday. Now listen to the other thing.

God got bored, He wanted to look at Himself. He couldn’t (?) a mirror, He said so be me, so be me, sohum, sohum and He meditated and He is still meditating, He forgot to stop.

(Students’ laughter)

And creativity is by the life too. So one became woman, one became male, one became female, that is how this male, female principle came. God is still meditating. Moment He opens His eyes, you all will be gone.

(Students’ laughter)

I went to a very great swami, I won’t tell his name, because Indians will really kill me. They are already after my back. That’s why I don’t speak. I went to him and he said, “Oh, oh, Bhajan swami, Bhajan yogi…”

I said, “What is happening maharaj? Great man.”

He said, “I am meditating.”

I said, “Swamiji, why people meditate?”

He said, “We must move the God.”

I said, “Swamiji (?) God moves. Earth will be nowhere. You are going to kill everybody?”

(Students’ laughter)

I said, “You are doing really a bad job.”

He said, “I am with God.”

I said, “God wants the earth not to destroy. And if God wants to look at earth He should be stable. But you are trying to do something to move God.”

He said, “No, no, I mean emotionally.”

I said, “Oh you are emotional? And you want to relate to the emotion of His?”

He said, “Oh no your old joke, all right, all right, let us talk something else.”

Because you cannot even express yourself of the unknown. So beautiful, so wonderful, so balanced is that phenomena that even they said Krishna, karey shunna, Krishna is not that who has eighteen thousand gopis, sometimes Americans like him. Oh my God, we get five, ten, twenty, he had eighteen thousand, perhaps we will worship him, we will have nine hundred thousand or something like that. No, that’s not true. Krishna means karey-shunna, kaar means the creativity, kaar this creativity, shunna comes to stop. Shunn, nothing moves. And the other polarity of that is rama, raa-eee-maa. That one which created sun and moon.

These are all kirtam nam, as we see the God, and as we see the God in the Infinity in relativity to relate all the time to us we relate all the time to do. What they call it? What is this relationship? Meditation. This is real, this is true and this is

the essence. Into that essence, into that wonder, into that bountiful beauty man expressed himself and said wow and because that wow came to him through the grace and blessing of the Guru therefore he said waa hey. Wahe. That’s what it is. Not (?) what are you making joke of it? What is wrong with you? You are chanting to God like a dog. Arey, sit calm and just say Wahe Guru. Your mental body and your physical body, your spiritual body and your astral body, your inner body in essence must recognize the wonderful lord. And that is what you are born for. That is what you are created for. And that is what you are asked for, you are asked for you have it. Iota.

(Students’ laughter)

I mean do it or not it’s up to you, it’s not my problem. I am supposed to teach, you are supposed to learn, right? Do it or not do it, it’s your karma, not mine. I learnt it, I got it, you learn it, you get it, you don’t learn it, you will be crazy. I would have been sitting in some office and doing my weird number, thirty thousand bills gone, twenty-two happened, what bah-bah-bah. I do the same thing, thirty thousand crazy, two hundred thousand…

(Students’ laughter)

Sometime people ask me, what do you do? I say when I was a custom officer I used to be… this airplane has come, now I am flying tomorrow, I am doing this, three hundred days planes, they don’t believe you. Same thing. We never used to sleep at night, here we don’t use to sleep night, we meditate. What has changed? Nothing. Something must have changed. What is that something? That out of nothing we have found something and out of something we have found nothing. When that balance comes in the experience of consciousness then one can feel waha, waha, waha, waha and that is the essence what people relate and when people want to relate, what your essence wants to relate.

There is a mantra, lock your hands, put your thumbs together in this at the heart center straight. You follow? And stretch it with the fingers and the hands must be (?) it is the sciatica in interrelation to the neutral center of the brain which gives you calmness, quietness and balance. Pressure should be with the elbows, straight at all center. It’s a position, it’s the aasana for your own creativity. No joke. But touch the thumbs very light, fingers must be very locked and pushed, and there should be a pressure on these arms so if you have eaten anything wrong it may not interfere with your meditation. Correct? Put your eyes on the tip of the nose and meditate on Hari mantra and Hari mantra has to be said thrice in one breath, okay, go ahead.

The class chants: Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari.

YB: Learn it, learn it from the voice, from the sound pick it up, don’t think somebody will teach you. This you have learned many, many lifetimes. Pick it up just as it is yours, as it is mine go ahead.

The class chants: Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari.

YB: Inhale, go ahead.

The class chants: Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari.

(Chanting stops.)

YB: Breathe in deep, so that you can sing it three times without cheating in-between.

The class chants: Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Hari nam Hari, Hari nam Sat Nam Sat Nam Hari.

YB: Okay, okay, okay, this is called nirgun. Sargun is same. Same posture, same position. Inhale. Rama dasa, saa sey so hung…

The class chants: Raa maa daa saa saa say so hung.

YB: What, this is tune? Come on.

The class chants: Raa maa daa saa saa say so hung

YB: Arey, if you want the blessing of Guru Ram Das sing it loud and pure.

(Chanting continues…)

(Chanting stops.)

Okay, third mantra which can go on the same posture inhale, and chant the mool mantra.

The class chants: Ik onkaar sat naam kartaa purakh nirbh-a-o nirvair akaal moorat ajoonee saibhn gur parsaad, jap Aad sach jugaad sach, hai bhee sach, naanak hosee bhee sach.

YB: Hey, hey, hey, you have to take full complete breath and you have to say on only one breath. If you have cheated in between that doesn’t mean you are qualified yourself. Okay, be clear.

The class chants: Ik onkaar sat naam kartaa purakh nirbh-a-o nirvair akaal moorat ajoonee saibhn gur parsaad, jap Aad sach jugaad sach, hai bhee sach, naanak hosee bhee sach.

(Chanting stops.)

YB: Relax. Thank you.

I don’t want you to chant too much, then you have to drive cars and you can be spaced out in other couple of minutes. It’s very relaxing, it is for the equilibrium of the both hemispheres of the brain and for the extension into the telescopic Infinity, not microscopic Infinity, we will talk about it when we meet next Monday. There will be no class on Thursday

because I have to fly out for doing some official job and I want you to grow so that you can do all those jobs when I quit.

Long time this planet earth I have seen, it sounds good to you and sounds good to me, but it’s not right to keep on hanging here with a shaggy bag called body. You know what I mean? It’s now a shaggy bag, it’s old, it’s going to be fifty years, half of a century, that’s enough. I have seen Los Angeles ten years, I have inhaled the smog, it’s beautiful.

(Students’ laughter)

But I think if you grow and you takeover and you enjoy it because you must become the masters, time is coming in couple of years when insanity will make people to hit the walls, they will come at the gate thinking it is the house of Guru Ram Das and if you will not help them and it’s a house of karamath.

“Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru, jinney siriya, jinney savariya, poori hoyi karamath, aap sajjan harey tariya.”

The very look of you should bring them balance, give them equilibrium, give them life, and that is the way you are going to be known, five thousand years from now to come. Therefore dedicate yourself and understand that you are preparing for the time to come and not for today.

Now sing the song. Come on musicians.

Side B

… And none of you came, you know you are trying to do something to us, right? And he never brought anything. Come on quick, why are you so late?

(Students sing…)

(Song stops.)

YB: So Guru Gobind Singh came down to claim as his own. And Khalsa is the one who walks on the path of purity, through his humble nature he reached the destination of light. In the creative nature of yours think about yourself as the light of God and be so and so be it.

The class sings: “May the long time sun shine upon you…”

YB: Blessed be my soul in the vicinity of the unknown, you are known as in the image of God. In the grace of the unknown beyond in the yonder land and on this land everywhere and nowhere, I find myself in the state of bliss to understand the purity and the piety of God. And these creatures in congregation have created this to uplift their consciousness, out of thy mercy oh unknown bless them in purity of art, bliss and let the song of the musical of ever be heard for them in the name of the holy name, so that they can uplift their consciousness unto thee. Blessed is my soul, which can relate to that light and may this day carry you through another day and other day and other day till the end of the journey when you can see no journey but the city of light. That is where we all belong to. Sat Nam.

It is our privilege to understand lot of people are trying to diet, but there is one formula which doesn’t cost anything, you have not to go any center and you can be skinny. You want to know?

Students: Yes sir.

YB: Just remember you are fat when you eat.

(Students’ laughter)

It works really good. You know I tell you, I made an experiment, I ate when I went to Mexico and all that area I ate like a pig, and got about thirty pounds over. But I wanted to know how much time it takes to diet and be beautiful and how much time it takes to be ugly. I found out that to become an ugly duckling it doesn’t take long time at all.

(Students’ laughter)

But it’s a hard way to learn and now I have to lose thirty pounds and all I do to myself is I say well, you are ugly, fat. So even the word ugly works if used right,

“In the beginning there was a word, word was with God and word was God.”

(Students’ laughter)

So please remember when you eat you just think that that little food is going to make you ugly. I tell you it maybe a cream pie with chocolate and what not, but your mouth won’t open.

(Students’ laughter)

Be blessed for this week, enjoy, do your Sadhana, what is this year? This is year?

Students: Relax and rejoice.

YB: And do it right.

(Students’ laughter)

Student: So all of us can relax and rejoice on Thursday night we are going to have a meeting here after class at seventy thirty for women and because of lot of women are relaxing and rejoicing right now and as the result a lot of husbands are relaxing and rejoicing right now and as a result lot of children are relaxing and rejoicing right now, and lot of sisters are relaxing and rejoicing right now because of the other sisters, we think it will be good if the women, all meet here on Thursday night and get into to the nitty-gritty of some of the things that we need to get into, so without (?) you are wondering what you are going to do it. Six more months still woman’s training camp if all (?) your (?) thinking of where you can go next week with your husband, this is the time to work it out and we hope that you all will be here and if you can spread the word to everybody. It’s not just for the married woman. I don’t mean to mislead anybody. But that is quite a lot of what it can be about. So any woman who is married, thinks she wants to get married or isn’t married, but we would like to just get into it Thursday night at seven thirty here.

Students: Sat Nam, there is a wedding in San Diego this coming weekend, Sunday at 10 o’clock, these two couples who are getting married have invited everyone to come. There will be lots of cars going either on Saturday afternoon or

Sunday morning, so if you are interested in going to the wedding give your names to the regional officer or try to coordinate right.

Student: (——)

Student: Names of the couples getting married Gurbani Kaur and Guru Mantra Singh, Meherbani Kaur and Guru Mantra Singh and Rajinder Kaur and Harbhajan Singh. Wahe Guru.

Meditation: LA021-780319 – You Will Feel Totally Conscious

Yogi Bhajan – LA021-780319 – You Will Feel Totally Conscious

Sit with crossed legs and a straight spine in a meditative posture.   Interlace the fingers with the palms facing the body. Touch the thumb tip to the tip of the mercury (little) finger on each hand respectively.   The mudra is held at shoulder level.

Inhale completely and repeat the mantra j as you exhale. Inhale and begin again.
The eyes are nine-tenths closed.

Inhale deeply and chant the healing mantra:

RA MA DA SA! SA SAY SO HUNG!

Make the SAY long and pause briefly between SA’s.   The mantra is chanted in a particular melody. Refer to tape for correct melody.

Practice for 31 minutes, then inhale, relax, breathe while stretching up for one minute.

In the first 3-5 minutes you will feel enthusiastic about it. After another seven minutes you will be “badly relaxed” yawning and spacing out. The next 10 minutes will bring you to a different state of consciousness, ecstasy. The final 10 minutes, you will feel totally conscious.

Meditation: NM0416-20010911 – Oneness of Heart

MEDITATION – Oneness of Heart

Sit in a cross-legged position. Fold your hands in front of the heart. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra, “Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung”(“Ra Ma Da Sa” by Gurunam). Be very sincere, very devout and solid. Continue for 11 minutes singing with a full voice, then for 5 minute in a whisper and then for 1 minute in silence. To end, Inhale deeply, hold, and give this breath to those who need it. Exhale and relax.
Many times we may have differences between our concepts but, when the time comes, we must stay together.
This is not a small tragedy. The insanity is around the corner and we have to act right and fearlessly, being alert.

Lecture – Attack on America
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – September 11th – Espanola, NM, USA
You must have watched the tragedy. So it comes true, that it takes one thought to make an enemy or a friend.  It was the thought of animosity against the openness of the United States. We do not know how many people have died, but America is under attack. They have attacked our symbol of trade; they have attacked our symbol of strength and, if that plane had not fallen, they would have attacked the White House. So there’s no might, there’s no superpower. A handful of people, when they put their life at stake can do all this. Don’t be amazed at what reaction there will be tomorrow. There will be a very severe tragedy to face for the people who have done this.
It is true that we have a collective responsibility. That is why Guru Nanak gave credit to sangat. We are one.
We will also suffer as one and we’ll act as one. All these people who died had not even a thought. Their only crime was that they were Americans. It was a well-planned attack, hijacking our own civilian planes full of gasoline and diverting them into the act of terrorism. Now you figure it out, that when I’m crying that the Age of Aquarius is coming, this is a period of insanity in between. See what has happened, and many more things are expected. It’s a tragedy we have to face.
What we can offer is one minute of prayer in our silence, with our heads bowed to the Almighty seeking His protection, kindness and compassion for those left behind. Seeking the healing energy for those who are injured.  Let us pray from our hearts to God Almighty.
Now it is up to us not to react but to root it out. Sometimes it is better to root out the tooth. By filling the cavity, the temporary pain will go away, but the danger shall still be there. In World War II, it was Japan who attacked Pearl Harbor. We could have pocketed it, but we didn’t. It’s the faculty of every American to keep on pocketing a lot of things until it goes over the line. Then we won’t pocket anymore. Pearl Harbor brought World War II, and made us participate. Our whole lifestyle changed. We were not the same again and we are not going to be the same again. Similarly, this attack has done it. This attack is going to change our lifestyle.
America will never be the same. You will have to go at least two hours earlier to the airport. Things will look rough. The policy in the domestic world will be changed and everything will be searched out. Similarly, in the foreign world everything will be changed that way.
That is what religion is all about. Search your inside, give yourself a chance, eliminate your fantasies and your imaginations. Don’t live in a dream world. Things can happen, and that is what has happened. When the World Trade Center was attacked a couple of years ago it was not much of a damage, but the method was not very sophisticated. So, they have been planning. Remember that the enemies do plan all the time. You have to defend a thousand times; the enemy wants one chance, which they got today. Now it is upon the nation to respond.
If America does not respond these kinds of things will be repeated. It’s very unfortunate for those people who have done this that our whole country is not divided at all. Because everything has been glued together–America will act with one voice, with one determination and with one strength, which is huge.
Our spirit of America does not lie in those towers and that side of the Pentagon. Those are symbols, which have been disturbed. Now there is a time for reaction. That’s why the concept of saints and soldiers, which was given by Guru Gobind Singh, comes in handy. People used to say, “What do we have to be a soldier for?”
We have to be a soldier for this insanity. And we have to be a saint for this kind of insanity. What Guru Gobind Singh said was that there can be a possibility where you have to defend yourself in a very saintly, firm way.
There are a lot of religions that say if somebody hits your left cheek, turn your right. And I used to say, if somebody hits your left cheek, hit his right cheek so there should be no cheek. Otherwise, some other poor fellow will get it. We must have an applied spiritual strength. Time is on us, and we are walking into that time where we have to relate to our inner and outer strength both.
You’ll be hearing a lot of talk about it in the next few days, but I can assure you that they are planning quite a big number. Don’t get into your hippie mood. They’ll put you behind bars such that you will never be heard from again. Everything is on candid camera; every word said will be seen. So I’d like you to be very cautious. Learn in sympathy that life is a commanded sense of coordination, cooperation and projection. You have to survive as an individual, and you have to survive as a collective individual. When you, inbetween yourself, do not find the cohesiveness, exclusiveness, and strength, you can’t survive.
The circumstances which are going to face us will tell us that the world has really changed. You can learn it the hard way, or you can learn it by the collective way. It is up to us whether we have peace of mind and we can live collectively to face the tragedy, or to be shattered individuals. This is a very condemnable act, but when you leave tomorrow for your offices or for work or sit down and talk with your colleagues, keep your spirits high and be effective.
At this time with the sorrow there is a great anger. Throughout the world there is a frustration and this act has triggered that frustration. Sometimes, being naive, we start talking about something which is not responsible.
Please avoid such conversations and discussions. It will not benefit you; rather, it may put you into jeopardy.
This whole thing has hurt every American. Whether we like it or not, there shall be a reaction. Don’t become victim to that reaction. It has to happen. World shall act insane. There’s no sanity in what has happened. Nobody among you could believe that this would happen. Still it has happened. Unknowingly, people are attacked personally, collectively, and nationally for no reason. We should send the healing energy to those who are still in pain. We should show our oneness of that heart.

Meditation: NM0414-20010905 – Correcting the Sensory System

MEDITATION – Correcting the Sensory System
Yogi Bhajan – Espanola, New Mexico September 5, 2001

Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hold the right hand up in front the right shoulder with the elbow relaxed down.  Point the index finger up, the source of your wisdom, and hold down the other fingers with the thumb. Extend the left forearm forward, parallel to the ground, with the elbow relaxed down. Make a tight fist of your left hand with the thumb outside. Eyes are closed. Do Long and Deep Breathing as you mentally chant the “Wah-hay Guroo Jio” shabd by Bhai Avtar Singh. Keep the index finger, the fist and the navel point tight. Connect your inner ear with the navel point and move it in rhythm with the mantra. Digest the sound! Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and strongly tighten the index finger, fist and navel point. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.

Bhai Avtar Singh – Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Wahe Jio – on SikhNet

“Wah-hay Guroo” is the glory of the One who takes you from darkness to light. On hearing it, feel light at the navel point and heart chakra. God lives with you, but you ignore it! It does not take much to enrich yourself with the strength of divinity. Once you have strength of divinity you will not barter and bargain your grace, and you will win. Nothing is permanent—partner, students, wealth, health. Only one thing is permanent—you and your divinity; you and your God within you. Do this kriya for 11 minutes. Once you get a little bit tuned with it, you can hear the unheard. Something in you will start talking to you. And that is the relationship you need.

Lecture – Congeniality
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – September 5th, 2001 – Espanola, NM, USA

We have many libraries and books and stories. Can you believe how many things we talk about? There is so much to learn, but if we do not know how to be content, we are not ourselves. Our life is full of earthquakes, sometimes because of anger, sometimes because of greed or attachment, sometimes because of pride. “Oh, if I had that…!” “I wanted to, but I couldn’t!” From this “couldn’t” comes life and we are not content. We live by the Will of God, we are surviving by the flow of energy and we are penetrating in our life by our own psyche. Still we are very discontented.
God created you, and His own Hand will carry you. But you do not want His Hand to carry you! You want, “kam, krodh, lobh and aunkaar” to carry you—desire, anger, greed and ego! There is curiosity about what tomorrow will be. Everybody wants to know what tomorrow will be! I tell you: Tomorrow is what you are today, and today, if you can flow with the magnetic field, the sun flares can connect and change your whole destiny to prosperity, richness and health.
The collective applied mind is the reality of the human mind in which there is no question of anger and no question of defeat. When you are involved in any relationship, you must speak and guide and sometimes goad, like those who sit on the neck of an elephant with an iron goad in their hand. The elephant knows that he must behave, or that goad will go right into his head.
Tragedy is for you what the iron goad is for the elephant. It puts you back on the path. You hate to suffer, but you are born to suffer when you are wrong. Fortunate are those who suffer and immediately correct themselves. But  you want to do wrong and not suffer at all! It does not happen that way. God will forgive you when you reach Him, but Mother Nature will never forgive you.
Man is a social animal. Without this, he is a brute. Living in a collective congregation is the source of all knowledge and all excellence. And that is Sahej Yoga—when things happen in a very simple way. You have to learn what is called “congeniality.” Congeniality is a sensory union. In the future, a sensory human will have congeniality to everything on this earth—not only to humans, but also among animals, root life, and bird life and among all that there is.
Once a shark came into shallow waters by mistake. 200 people were there, but nobody killed it. They successfully put it back into deep water. That is the bondage of selfless existence and service. Because of the pollution of the ocean, the sensory system of sharks is so damaged that they come on the beach. You do the same! You beach yourself in such a situation of life that does not belong to you! Why? Because your sensory system does not work either! Now let us act correctively.

Lecture
Reach Out!
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – March 20th, 2001 – Espanola, NM, USA

Some people are not covered with skin; they are covered with ego! They are so well isolated that then have no friends, no God, no surroundings—nothing but ego. They prevent everything from entering, for they are not humble enough to allow things to come in. That is how they survive.
No one wants to do wrong. Everybody wants to be good, but being good takes discipline! Take the time to teach your child the pros and cons, and manners, and values. Parents presume that children know it all. Children know it all, but are begging, requesting, “Please make us better. Please help us!” You let them go like baby birds, taken from their nest and made to fly.

Some people have no roots. They talk and there is no juice. They punish themselves with isolation and looking down on others. I once told a gentleman, “You are good. Just learn one thing—do not take it for granted that people will respect you. Be in a position to communicate with others and not isolate yourself.” With all goodness of the heart, his isolation was killing his whole dream of tomorrow.
Those who care are forklifts; they uplift other people and spend time with them. It is important to be social, kind and compassionate, even to those who do not deserve it. Those who cannot reach out, have no way to grow up!  They forget that their cells live and die everyday. They forget that everyday we are new people dealing with new people. That is why man is a social animal. Our whole essence is discipline. The highest point of discipline is to be in love with others and carry them, with your head and your heart. If you cannot be friendly, if you are indifferent, no matter who you are or who supports you, you will not be able to sustain yourself. People who are uptight and indifferent in society are dead for that society.  They commit crimes against their own personality and identity, and they have not learned humility and grace; they do not give themselves a chance! There is a humungous infinity available all the time. Reach out and touch people!
Do not count their faults. Start counting the ways you can help them. Let your nature be helpful! You will build compassion, character, dignity, divinity, grace, power to sacrifice and happiness.
While living in Toronto, I saw a man fall into the snow. I got up and pulled him out. Somehow I got him to the corner of the road and made a phone call. An ambulance came and took him away. Two weeks later I received an invitation, “You are requested to visit the Director of Planning and Human Resources.” Someone said to me, “He is the most powerful man in Canada—he can do more than the prime minister can do!  ”When I met him, he stood up from his chair and said, “Welcome, angel. Please sit down.” It was the same man who had fallen into the snow.
For as long as I lived in Canada, whenever I needed anything, he gave 100% to see that it was done. “That is my special person. Please take care of it.”That is how it works.
One day on a long journey we ran out of gas. The car stopped. Soon a huge gasoline truck parked on the side of the road. After filling our tank the truck driver said, “There is no charge; I am not a company driver, I’m a private driver. In this area, you won’t find a gas station for miles and miles.” It was many years ago, but I still remember that greatness. I still remember that touch. I still remember that help. I still remember that kindness. Nothing can match it. Stop for a moment and look around, see if you can help somebody!
Remember that you are just a bunch of molecules and cells and that the life of your cells is only 72 hours. In 72 hours a person totally changes. Sit and meditate, let your blood flow through areas of discomfort and disease. You can be treated. You can solve problems by provoking your higher self.

Meditation: NM0383-20010213 – Culturing the Self

MEDITATION – Culturing the Self

1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Eyes are closed. Chant from the navel in a two and one-half breath cycle, “Ek Ong Kaar – Sat Naam Siree – Wah-hay Guroo” (from “Raga Sadhana” by Sangeet Kaur & Harjinder Singh).

Continue for 11 or 31 minutes.

(Each sound of this mantra vibrates and integrates a different chakra within the aura. Take a deep inhale and chant “Ek Ong Kaar.” Ek is very short, as when we split the atom, releasing a humongous amount of energy from the first chakra. Ong is vibrated from the second chakra, resonating through the nostrils to experience the conch of the third eye. Kaar is vibrated from the navel. Take another deep inhale and chant “Sat Naam Siree.”

Sat is short, coming abruptly from the navel, pulling up the diaphragm. Naam is very long and resonates through the heart. Siree, the greatest of all the great powers— the Shakti—is chanted with the last bit of breath. It is pulled from the navel and up through the neck lock. Then take a short half breath and chant “Wah-hay Guroo.”  Wah-hay and Guroo are released through the top of the head.)

2. Chant from the navel, “Sat Naam Sat Naam, Wah-hay Guroo Wah-hay Guroo” (“Sat Nam Wahe Guru” by Jagjit Singh). Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and meditatively recollect the sound you were chanting. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.

In the first part of the meditation we break the atom to release power: we break the words, using the length of the breath, and we align the chakras. The central nervous system is involved. In the second part of the meditation we practice Bhakti, devotional chanting. It is most powerful when we chant and listen to our sound at the same time. If we only chant it has only half the power. Chanting and listening to the chant at the same time engages the higher consciousness, the circulatory system and the nervous system.

When you develop this listening power, you will be able to analyze what is good for you and what is not. Whenever another person talks. It is a very simple way to have knowledge. I hope you practice it.

Lecture
It takes many acres of grass to feed a cow to produce milk. When we add a culture to milk it becomes yogurt. When we churn yogurt it becomes butter. When we heat butter, the cholesterol and all impurities come out and it becomes ghee. Ghee is the purest form of grass. If a cow does not eat grass, and if its milk is not cultured, and butter is not heated, then ghee is not possible. Similarly there are stages of growth in a human mind. First is to evolve to group consciousness, where you merge with the Sadh Sangat—the holy congregation. Then is to have the touch of the master, a wise person who adds the culture. Then time churns you, and the heat of ecstasy purifies you. Meditation is when you force your mind to aim at something higher than yourself A statue of Krishna is not Krishna: is a statue! You meditate on it. It is you who, taking the guideline of that statue, become Krishna! We are very fortunate to have the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. We churn the words of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib to understand its meaning. It talks to us about our single and collective life. It is a meditation for us. The beauty of that is that it does not alter its statement, whether single or collective. Your power resides in your discipline. When you combine the elementary power of a human being with the power of discipline, you have the power of excellence. Then you cannot be swayed by anything. Then you see the highest self and the highest grace. A life without confirmed discipline has no foundations. Storms come and change the atmosphere, but those who live in a solid space are unshakable.

Meditation: NM0393-20010402 – Sarab Gyan Kriya

Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – NM0393 – April 2nd, 2001 – Espanola, NM, USA

MEDITATION – Sarab Gyan Kriya

Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Both hands are in receptive Gyan Mudra. Cross the right hand over the left hand in front of the heart center, so that the four tips of the thumbs and index fingers are together, palms facing up. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Chant the Mangalacharan Mantra, “Ek Ong Kaar Sat Gur Prasaad, Sat Gur Prasaad Ek Ong Kaar” (“Ek Ong Kar Satgur Prasaad”). Continue for 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and extend the arms up straight with the palms together, like a salute, the body will distribute the energy through neutral channels itself. Exhale. Repeat 1 time, than inhale deeply, press the hands together and synchronize the body from toe to top. Relax.
As one obtains true happiness, intercommunication evolves from sexual to sensual, social, local, national, international and cosmic to the Infinite. Out of that, Prakirti, the universe, is born. The mantra “Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad, Sat Gur Prasad Ek Ong Kar” explains it, and this most sacred kriya is the seal to go with it. The mudra by itself will change the flow of the body’s energy. Do this kriya, make it part of your life, and you will be surprised at the changes in you.

The Journey of Consciousness
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – April 2nd, 2001 – Espanola, NM, USA

Saints and sages found that whether people had wealth or had nothing, they did not find contentment. When sages in India discovered the concept of zero, where zero multiplied by zero becomes zero, it was realized that anything multiplied by infinity becomes infinity. Everyone has limits, but the sages realized—we all come from the Limitless.
Some know that through infinity we can have contentment. Others have no contentment and are constantly searching. Others live in their universal nature but want to be isolated. And finally there are people who do notrespect any boundaries, they can be successful in their profession and foolish in other aspects. Their life is like a bull tied to a Persian wheel—boring, endless, consuming and tiring. Their life revolves around an axle in an orbit that is very difficult to break, which leads to questions like, “What is life?” “Where am I going?”“What am I doing?”To answer these questions we have developed philosophy. People living in the desert saw the sun during the day and beautiful constellations in the cool night and made the sun, moon and stars their symbols. When some Jews revolted a little bit they were put on a cross and the cross became their symbol. When some people who believed in infinity became finite, “Om” became their symbol. Others with no God or path of life, with no wisdom, buddhi, started saying that there are eight ways of wisdom, and became the Buddhists. Finally came Guru Nanak simply saying, “You have come from infinity, you have to go back to infinity.”
When there was no rationale for life’s experiences, man concluded that the most powerful facet of a human is the mind. The mind teaches you to lie, betray and cheat, but you were born with a neutral mind. Wise men found that the mind should be controlled, and from this evolved all forms of yoga. Patanjali divided humans, personality, identity and infinity into eight steps, creating Ashtang Yoga, the Yoga of Eight Steps. Out of Ashtang Yoga, and circumventing the eight steps, came Kundalini Yoga, which uncoils the body’s reserve energy and gives power to control the mind.
Guru Nanak’s theory was simple, “All is because all is.” That is Gyan, knowledge, and all you have to learn. All is, all is—accept it. Accept it and it will bring contentment. If you do not accept it, you will be wandering in your own mind.
When a woman is in love with a man her life becomes a prayer for that man. And when a man is in love with a woman, he becomes humble. Although your greatest strength is love, it is not the love you know. In modern times, love provides only emotional co-existence. Men want to conquer women, and women want to conquer men. In reality, men and women should conquer Prakirti, the creativity around them, so that they can find a Creator beyond all layers. The sages found a way. One of these ways you will practice tonight.

Looking to the Higher Self
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – May 29th, 2001 – Espanota, NM, USA

Life is basically very secure. Only humans are insecure. We hold onto things and are not sure of tomorrow. Women who practice insecurity and men who practice arrogance are the most dangerous things on the planet. When people say, “Chant the Name of God,” it means that you should look to a higher self than yourself In doing this you feel vast and your problems become small.
While Lord Shiva was teaching Parvati she often fell asleep. It took three lifetimes for Parvati to learn the teachings of her husband. One day she said, “Lord Shiva, ocean of teachings, I am a humble woman. I have taken three lifetimes to hear you, still I can’t reach your teachings. You say it is very  easy, I say it is very difficult.” Lord Shiva looked at her and said, “Do you really want to learn, or are you asking for arguments’ sake?” Women were arguing then and they are arguing now. To help a woman find a real mate, she has been given a special sixth sense to argue. Arguing is a woman’s treat. A man’s treat is to smile. When a woman argues, just smile, drink a glass of water and get out of the house as fast as you can.
Parvati replied, “Really, Lord, I want to learn!” Shiva said, “Then keep obeying whatever I will say. You will become obedient and the knowledge of Infinity will be with you.” Parvati did it. When a woman does not feel that she is a female, a shakti, it is a tragedy. When women says, “I don’t know,” “I can’t deal with it,” they are not taking long breaths, they cut the psyche. Men have a very different approach. They say, I’ll think it over and call you back.” It is actually a man’s way of resting his brain.

Meditation: NM0347-20000502-Guru Kriya

Yogi Bhajan – New Mexico May 2, 2000

GURU KRIYA – Touch Every Heart

1. Sit up straight in a cross-legged position. Place the left hand on the heart and raise the right hand to the side as if you are taking an oath. The fingers of both hands are spread and do not touch each other—this is the secret of this meditation. Eyes are closed. Sing along with Guru Jiwan Singh’s Guru Dev Mata shabad. Become Guru Dev. Let Guru come in. Let the guidance of God come in. Apply yourself. Be steady. Continue for 31 minutes.

2. Place the right hand over the left hand on the heart. Chant in a monotone Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siree Guroo Dayvay Nameh . Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and press your heart center with the strength of both hands. Cannon Fire Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax

Lecture

First you were conceived. After conception you grew. During the last two months of pregnancy, a mother becomes very, very radiant because there is a life in her. Then you are delivered, you start breathing and needing food. Similarly, you conceive a thought out of thousand thoughts per blink of the eye. That thought grows and has feelings. Each feeling becomes a desire, and then manifests—like your life. Out of billions of feelings, a million emotions attach to it, and then you deliver. You deliver a baby because you have a desire. Your desires have hopes, opinions and ideas—like those of a baby. You can have a good son, a mediocre son or a good-for-nothing son. In the same way, a thought becomes a good desire, a mediocre desire and a good-for-nothing desire. This desire is your desire, and so you have prejudices. And prejudices create party alliances. Hitler created a mass movement out of individuals. When you create a flood, it sweeps the land. People become territorial and fight. Man becomes the enemy of man.

In reality, man becomes the enemy of himself. Why? You have not found yourself. You have not told your mind, “Oh my mind, you are the personification of the Light of God. Understand your Essence.” Instead you say, “I have this habit, I have this neurosis.” They are not yours— they are the thoughts you perceive and the prejudices you conceive. You block yourself and do not allow your radiant, most beautiful, most powerful soul to shine. When a lamp becomes dirty from burning through many incarnations, no light can come through it. That person’s existence emits crudeness, animosity, jealousy, rudeness. God made him in His own Image. He is part of His Light. He should be bright, beautiful, bountiful, blissful.

Modality: Healing with the Elements

The Elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Ether comprise our physical world.  The Prana of our mortal incarnation gathers them in combination while we live.  They are released when our Prana can no longer hold them and then we expire.  The approach of healing with the Elements seeks to bring them into balance when one or more of them are in excess or deficient.  Healing in this way  can apply to our physical system as well as to the way we relate with everything.

When we study the Elements as a healing modality we become aware of their presence and impact in relation with the healing event.  With our intention we can then modify the alchemical soup of the system and bring about balance.

Healing with Elements is fast and impactful, though not as precise as with other contemplative forms of healing.  It is used to produce quick and powerful results. Practicing this art will produce a deep knowledge of the nature of the Elements and help us to master them for the purpose of healing.

Look for the next workshop on this important modality.

Healing with the Ten Bodies

Yogic tradition tells us that all consciousness that can be identified has ten bodies.  It is the common denominator  of all beings and collections of beings.  We can approach healing in a very profound and permanent way if we recognize this and relate with the bodies in a contemplative way.  Contemplating a body of an event we can find the story that holds the tendencies of the patient at a very primal level and modify it.  Our workshop will address this proposition and we will practice healing using this method.

Meditation and Healing Workshop July 20, 2013 with Hari Nam Singh at the Healing Heart Center (Review)

We held a Meditation and Sat Nam Rasayan® Healing Workshop with Hari Nam Singh at the Healing Heart Center in Hollywood. The topic of the workshop was Healing with the Elements.

Meditation: Initiate an Intuitive Existence

Meditation: Sniff Meditation

Meditation: BlowYour Mind

The Elements are a system of forms that we can use in a healing relation.  They are Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether.  An assumption of using elements to heal is that any system can be described completely by the composition of elements present in the system.  Our mortal incarnation can be described physically as a collection of elements held together by our prana.  When the prana can no longer hold the elements together, they disperse, and we expire.

How elements are combined can describe conditions of imbalance or disease.  Too much of one or more elements and a lack of others can produce a condition of imbalance in the body, in the mind, or perhaps in a relationship between a person and someone or something else.  Bringing the composition of elements into balance can remove the tendency of the condition.

The way we use elements to heal is simply to include them in the healing relation.  We relate with elements in the same way that we relate with the event.  We find how we are affected in our perceptive field by our intention to include one or more elements.  It is the same intuitive process that we use for all healing.  We do not need to conceptualize nor visualize an element as an object or static property, but rather look inside our perceptive field to find how we are affected in relation with it.  Those effects are the reality of the process.  Any preconceptions of an element that come from outside of the experience only serve to limit the experience and dilute the effect.  The use of elements has an immediate and strong impact on the healing relation.  We use them to effect quick results where the precision of other contemplative forms is not required.

Highlights of the experience.

It is Ten Years Today…

…since the start of the Iraq War.  Last week my family listened to Rachel Maddow comment on war in our time when she visited Los Angeles.  Neither a pacifist nor a war hawk, Rachel shared her thoughts on why it our nation has a propensity for engaging in perpetual war.  She has written a book entitled Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power.  It is an American political history of America’s most recent wars.  In her address she described her motivations for writing the book and described some aspects of its context.

Here I would like to share some highlights.
