Resoluteness sets the stage for a breakthrough. Just as yesterday the reading stated that things must take their course, the overall movement is toward the waning of influence of inferior people. When we worry about a situation where self-serving people have seized power, the source of that concern tends to be an uncertainty about the resoluteness that will be required to break the stranglehold. Proper development in the established course is important. There is no need to rush it or provoke an outcome. Only perservere.
The text reads:
“…the essential factor is a correct way of development through cultivation of one’s own personality. No influence such as that exerted by agitators has a lasting effect.
Within the personality too, development must follow the same course if lasting results are to be achieved. Gentleness that is adaptable, but at the same time penetrating, is the outer form that should proceed from inner calm.
The very gradualness of the development makes it necessary to have perseverance, for perseverance alone prevents slow progress from dwindling to nothing.”
When you have done what you can, move on. When you find yourself in new and strange situations, be cautious and reserved. Focus on what is close around you. Seek only good places to be and people to associate with. Then you can go your way unmolested and enjoy good fortune.
You can be at odds with those around you. They hold positions just as you do. Rather than proceeding forcefully, which would only widen the gap, an approach to find common ground would be useful and can benefit mutually in small matters. Enduring union is characterized by a constant movement and renewal that is not worn down by hindrances, but rather relies on the immutable laws of nature upon which the union is based. Let it happen. Yesterday’s reading indicated that a breakthrough is near. It has not happened yet. Until then, oppressive powers are on the march and are nearing their zenith. Misfortune has reached its peak. Once complete the occupants of seats of power will begin to break the structures of power and themselves. It cannot be avoided. Let it happen. A breakthrough is in the works. Even though outwardly we appear to be in a time of grave danger, have no fear. You can ride it out. It is a time when inferior people gradually begin to disappear. Lie low, do not fly too high. Be patient, good things will come.
You didn’t cause it, but you can help to sweep away corruption and stagnation that has been allowed to develop by those who have gone before you. In doing so, you will need the help of others. Through your own radiance and strength of spirit, inspire others to take up the cause to right the wrongs and together purify the consciousness of your community. Speak gently and subtly and allow your intentions to be carried on the wind.
Differences seem irreconcilable. What should be understood is that differences of individuality are internal and need not preclude coming together over external matters that affect both parties. Through minimal discourse small things may be resolved even if great undertakings may not succeed given the climate of divergent views. In humility, remain supremely modest. Do not push too much nor bring too much attention to yourself. Do not focus too closely or narrowly on your goals. It would be very easy for you to be blindsided by unforeseen attacks. Instead, wait for your message to be heard and your example seen. Soon, your resonance with the spirit of the people will be recognized. An unbounded enthusiasm will spring from their hearts as they join in the cosmic flow with you. It is a primal dance that will be self-sustaining and far reaching.
Enjoy gathering and working with people of like mind. Engage where it is truly useful. Avoid encouraging people who are merely seeking your influence for their own ends. Remain neutral with people who are simply feeding off you. Then they will begin to trust you for who you are.
The task at hand is to lead the world out of confusion and back to order. Establish a common goal among your friends that will unite forces that are now tending in different directions. With determination and caution each will find the means of contributing to that goal and bringing it to success.
Speak softly and act gently with confidence. Your intentions will be carried on the wind. With your persistence, their impact, not necessarily felt, will be far-reaching and effective. Resistance, no matter how dense, intransigent and rigid, cannot hold under ceaseless influence.
Have a clear goal with a clear direction. Follow through on your promises and lead by example.
