“There are ways to feel relaxed. One is to feel that you are a part of the universe and that the universe is a part of you. You are just as beautiful as the universe. Without you, the universe is not beautiful, and you are not beautiful without the universe.” Yogi Bhajan
If we can come together earnestly and dissolve the divisions that are collapsing our community, we will live in a period of renewed prosperity.
It is important that disunion should be overcome at the outset, before it has become complete – that the clouds should be dispersed before they have brought storm and rain. At such times when hidden divergences in temper make themselves felt and lead to mutual misunderstandings, we must take quick and vigorous action to dissolve the misunderstandings and mutual distrust.

59 – Fifty-Nine Huan / Dissolution
Wind carries the Mists aloft: Sage rulers dedicated their lives to serving a Higher Power and built temples that still endure.
The King approaches his temple. Success if you stay on course. You may cross to the far shore.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
Walls meant to protect have instead separated and isolated. Your defenses have kept you apart from those whom you most need to touch. Whatever the reason for discord between you, it is time to lay down your arms. Dispel the inflexible demands and fears of the Mind so that you may reunite in the Heart. If you have begrudged, forgive. If you have torn down, repair. If you have injured, heal. If you have judged, pardon. If you have grasped, let go.
Six at the beginning [yin at bottom] means:
He brings help with the strength of a horse. Good fortune.
42 – Forty-Two I / Expansion
Whirlwinds and Thunder: When the Superior Person encounters saintly behavior, he adopts it; when he encounters a fault within, he transforms it.
Progress in every endeavor. You may cross to the far shore.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
Get ready to ride a tide of accelerated growth toward self-actualization. A joyful awareness of the best within you, coupled with an acceptance of your Shadow, will provide a greater repertoire, a much bolder vision, and new depth and clarity that will compel you to expand your horizons.
“Man is basically unlimited because the soul is unlimited. Man is basically unlimited because his mind is unlimited. Only the physical structure is limited, but the structure is priceless. Nobody can manufacture it.” Yogi Bhajan

2 – Two K’un / Receptive Force
Earth above and Earth below: The Earth contains and sustains. In this situation, the Superior Person should not take the initiative; he should follow the initiative of another. He should seek receptive allies in the southwest; he should break ties with immovable allies in the northeast.
Responsive devotion. Receptive influence. Sublime Success if you keep to your course.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
This is a time for dealing with reality as it is, not as you would have it be. If you realize that in this situation you are the receptor, not the transmitter of the stimulus, you will find yourself reaching goals that seemed unattainable under your own steam. If you persist in futile efforts to be the Shaper rather than the Shaped, you will completely miss this unique opportunity.
Six in the fifth place means:
A yellow lower garment brings supreme good fortune.
Yellow is the color of the earth and of the middle; it is the symbol of that which is reliable and genuine. The lower garment is inconspicuously decorated – the symbol of aristocratic reserve. When anyone is called upon to work in a prominent but not independent position, true success depends on the utmost discretion. A man’s genuineness and refinement should not reveal themselves directly; they should express themselves only indirectly as an effect from within.
8 – Eight Pi / Bonding
Deep Waters on the face of the Earth: Surface waters flow together. The Superior Person recognizes the situation calls for joining together. Thus he cultivates friendly relations with all.
Good fortune is possible. Cast the coins again to discover if you have the qualities needed to lead such a group. Then there will be no error. Those uncertain will gradually join. Those who join too late will meet with misfortune.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
This is a time of connection with another or others — not just an alliance, but a melding of parts into a new whole. Such a connection may be too close, too intense for some. Consult the oracle again to see if you have the qualities needed to strengthen and withstand such an intense synthesis.
“Be creative, be loving, be giving, be great, and God will give you bounty. There will be no limit. Whatever you plant in the spring, it will grow. So, if in your own ecology you will sprout positivity, service, smiles, charm, happiness, good faith, you will grow and you will be unlimited.” Yogi Bhajan
Whatever levels of personal achievement you have accomplished, and to whatever degree you have shed your dependencies on the world, the world still needs you. You have much to share that will give comfort, encouragement and support to others.

19 – Nineteen Lin / Noble Calling
The rich, loamy Earth on the banks of the Marsh provides fertile soil for exceptional progress.
The Superior Person is inexhaustible in his willingness to teach, and without limit in his tolerance and support of others.
Supreme Success if you keep to your course.
But be aware that your time is limited; your power will wane, as Summer changes to Fall.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
You are in a position to help another.
This is a temporary situation, because your power is cyclical, seasonal.
Knowing this, you must perform your good deed without hope of reward.
You are not furthering your own process, but another’s.
Though you may cherish this other, you will never possess.
Touch without grasping.
Take comfort in becoming a fond memory.
Nurture, then let go.
Six at the top means:
Greathearted approach.
Good fortune. No blame.
A sage who has put the world behind him and who in spirit has already withdrawn from life may, under certain circumstances, decide to return once more to the here and now and to approach other men. This means great good fortune for the men whom he teaches and helps. And for him this greathearted humbling of himself is blameless.
27 – Twenty-Seven I / Providing Nourishment
Beneath the immobile Mountain the arousing Thunder stirs:
The Superior Person preserves his freedom under oppressive conditions by watching what comes out of his mouth, as well as what goes in.
Endure and good fortune will come.
Nurture others in need, as if you were feeding yourself.
Take care not to provide sustenance for those who feed off others.
Stay as high as possible on the food chain.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
You are a conduit in this instance, able to provide the sustenance needed by others.
Position yourself to nourish the truly needy and worthy.
Avoid situations where you might be coerced into supporting the parasites and vermin who deprive your true charges.
Your own nourishment is an issue here, too.
Remember Lao Tzu’s three Great Treasures:
Only the person possessed of Compassion, Modesty and Frugality can remain fit enough to stay free of desperation and keep control of the situation.
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Extend and stretch the arms upwards at 60 degree angles, pointing the index fingers and holding the other three fingers with the tumbs. Eyes are closed. Be steady. Stretch your elbows. Balance the body. Let the spine shake, not the hands.
Chant the “Maha Mrityunjai Mantra” by Alka Yagnik
(Om Tri-ambakham Yaajaa Mahay, Sugandheem Pushteevaadhaanan, Oorvaarookamiv Bandhanaat, Mrityor Mukhshee-aa Maamrootaat).
Continue for [1 to 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and stretch the arms and spine. Make every fiber of the body tight like steel.
Exhale. Repeat 2 times. Relax.

Share the Best with Others
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. – June 4th, 2001 – Espanola, NM, USA
As we enter the Aquarian Age, some people are hanging on, some are barely walking and others are dragging their heels. Those who are imaginative and
wonderful are in misery when their ego is not satisfied. Others, whose defects could be overcome by doing sadhana, believe they have a sadhana but do not do it. On one hand they live positively and on the other hand they live with their defects.
This pain in life is self-perpetuating and limitless. You are corrupted before reaching the age of 27. People seeking a mate or a relationship feel they have a right to sex it out. This “sexing it out” can never leave your being. It is not just prostituting the body. To pimp your feelings or your mind is worse than prostitution. How can you forget the deeply embedded memories of entanglement between a man and a woman, or subconsciously wipe them out? Where do you get the power? Somebody said to me, “I have the habit of being free!” It means having no commitment, no character, no dignity, no divinity, no grace. Free from what?
It is a joy to have children—but without virtues, without values, without training? How many parents share manners for their children to practice? How manny live in a dream world because it is more convenient and pleasant than reality? How many times do you want to break down the banks of the river and flood the entire population, and think you will have friends? How many times have you insulted people with your bad manners and crude language? How many months has it taken you in your life to find out that you have anger and must get rid of it? How long wiill it be until
you realize you are not the end of the world, you are not the final word and you are not God, but just a human being? Shine as a light, with a smile, with love and affection, and with compassion. Where there is no love, there is fear. You have never bothered to discipline yourselves, to do sadhana, and do it like Aradhana to reach Prabhupati. You can be told and told, but will you listen for your sake? There is a new posture, the “Hang In” posture. Hang in and blame your parents and neighbors. When you blame and blame, you cannot claim anything in life. Without the discipline and
the cleansing effects of sadhana, you do not rise above your body and being. Take time to sit and plan, to feel confident and comfortable. In a life of self-competency, where we leave off comparing and competing, we are respected. Be grateful for what you have. When you are great, you are fulfilled. Have patience and take care of yourself: “I have put three things in this plate: Sat, truth; Santokh, patience; and Vicharo, self-analysis. To this | have added God’s Name, which is like nectar. That is the greatest satisfaction.” — Guru Arjan, Rehiras Sahib
If you have character and commitment, if you remember that God alone has made you, that you are the identity of God, and if you remember “Ang Sang Wah-hay Guroo,” that God is within your every limb, you will be free of
frustrations, anger and game playing.
I asked someone, “You left in the middle of class. What happened?” “I felt that you were talking about me and it made me angry, so | thought I should go.” “Did leaving the class make that something in you leave?” “No. That’s why I came today, to ask you what to do.” “Let the past go. Change your behavior. Smile at everybody, say hello with love and affection, shake hands. The shortest route? Do not satisfy your ego, God will satisfy your soul.”
You like to think you have the right to break the discipline and be obnoxious, but you do not want the consequences. Just because we have a voice, does not mean that we should yell and scream at people. Show them the way, guide them, hold their hand. Keep the good for yourself} keep the better for tomorrow, and share the best with others.
“When you become light and you radiate, there is no darkness. A candle has one future, to spread the light. How does the candle spread the light? By burning itself, the candle spreads the light and consequently knows the future. If you burn yourself, you will radiate and will spread the light. The job of the human being is to radiate through the finite self the infinite light.” Yogi Bhajan

23 – Twenty-Three Po / Splitting Apart
The weight of the Mountain presses down upon a weak foundation of Earth:
The Superior Person will use this time of oppression to attend to the needs of those less fortunate.
Any action would be ill-timed.
Stand fast.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
This is a situation easily mistaken for Stagnation (Hexagram 12) or Revolution (Hexagram 49).
It just depends on which side you’re on.
During a time of Stagnation, human worms invade to feed on the decay.
During a time of Revolution, oppression is being overthrown.
But in this situation, oppressors are violently seizing power.
Pay special heed when you receive this hexagram, because the oracle is often warning you of a situation of which you are totally unaware.
You are about to be blindsided.
The dark lines are about to mount upward and overthrow the last firm, light line by exerting a disintegrating influence on it. The inferior, dark forces overcome what is superior and strong, not by direct means, but by undermining it gradually and imperceptibly, so that it finally collapses.
The lines of the hexagram present the image of a house, the top line being the roof, and because the roof is being shattered the house collapses. The hexagram belongs to the ninth month (October- November). The yin power pushes up ever more powerfully and is about to supplant the yang power altogether.
THE JUDGEMENT
SPLITTING APART. It does not further one
To go anywhere.
This pictures a time when inferior people are pushing forward and are about to crowd out the few remaining strong and superior men. Under these circumstances, which are due to the time, it is not favorable for the superior man to undertake anything.
The right behavior in such adverse times is to be deduced from the images and their attributes. The lower trigram stands for the earth, whose attributes are docility and devotion. The upper trigram stands for the mountain, whose attribute is stillness. This suggests that one should submit to the bad time and remain quiet. For it is a question not of man’s doing but of time conditions, which, according to the laws of heaven, show an alternation of increase and decrease, fullness and emptiness. It is impossible to counteract these conditions of the time. Hence it is not cowardice but wisdom to submit and avoid action.
THE IMAGE
The mountain rests on the earth:
The image of SPLITTING APART.
Thus those above can ensure their position
Only by giving generously to those below.
The mountain rests on the earth. When it is steep and narrow, lacking a broad base, it must topple over. Its position is strong only when it rises out of the earth broad and great, not proud and steep. So likewise those who rule rest on the broad foundation of the people. They too should be generous and benevolent, like the earth that carries all. Then they will make their position as secure as a mountain is in its tranquillity.
“A man has to understand his existence in relationship to the universe. Whosoever knows this knows the truth. The whole world around you will be beautiful if you understand that you are you.” Yogi Bhajan

40 – Forty Hsieh / Liberation
A Thunderous Cloudburst shatters the oppressive humidity: The Superior Person knows the release in forgiveness, pardoning the faults of others and dealing gently with those who sin against him.
It pays to accept things as they are for now. If there is nothing else to be gained, a return brings good fortune. If there is something yet to be gained, act on it at once.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
The relief you experience here is not your own personal pardon, but the release of others from your rigid expectations. Like a hot air balloon, you will rise to new heights as you cast the heavy sandbags of resentments and restrictions away from you. Feel the lightness of being that results from forgiving others and accepting them as they are. Free yourself of the endless vigil of policing the behavior of others. See them for who they are, not what they can or can’t do for you.
Nine in the second place means:
One kills three foxes in the field And receives a yellow arrow. Perseverance brings good fortune.
The image is taken from the hunt. The hunter catches three cunning foxes and receives a yellow arrow as a reward. The obstacles in public life are the designing foxes who try to influence the ruler through flattery. They must be removed before there can be any deliverance. But the struggle must not be carried on with the wrong weapons. The yellow color points to measure and mean in proceeding against the enemy; the arrow signifies the straight course. If one devotes himself wholeheartedly to the task of deliverance, he develops so much inner strength from his rectitude that it acts as a weapon against all that is false and low.
16 – Sixteen Yü / Enthusiasm
Thunder comes resounding out of the Earth: Similar thunder roars up from the masses when the Superior Person strikes a chord in their hearts.
Whip up enthusiasm, rally your forces, and move boldly forward.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
There is a rhythmic force, a world music, that lives deep in the Unconscious of each of us. It’s a primitive drumbeat, a shaking rattle, a tribal chant that invokes the primal self to rise up and join the dance. This is the enthusiasm that is generated now. Not rhetorical persuasion, not a play on the emotions, but a charismatic, irresistible Call of the Wild. Confucius said that the person who could comprehend this could ‘rule the world as though it were spinning in his hand.’ This is a time for instinct, not intellect — the Thunder from the Beneath.
If you are not aware for you and aware of you, then your existence will be damaged. If you want to be great, then you will have to feel great and act great. Many people think they have to seek approval. All you have to do is approve of yourself.” Yogi Bhajan

Beneath the immobile Mountain the arousing Thunder stirs:

Your own nourishment is an issue here, too.
Remember Lao Tzu’s three Great Treasures:
Only the person possessed of Compassion, Modesty and Frugality can remain fit enough to stay free of desperation and keep control of the situation.
Six in the second place means:
Turning to the summit for nourishment,
Deviating from the path
To seek nourishment from the hill.
Continuing to do this brings misfortune.
Normally a person either provides his own means of nourishment or is supported in a proper way by those whose duty and privilege it is to provide for him. If, owing to weakness of spirit, a man cannot support himself, a feeling of uneasiness comes over him; this is because in shirking the proper way of obtaining a living, he accepts support as a favor from those in higher place. This is unworthy, for he is deviating from his true nature. Kept up indefinitely, this course leads to misfortune.
59 – Fifty-Nine Huan / Dissolution
Wind carries the Mists aloft:

Success if you stay on course.
You may cross to the far shore.

45 – Forty-Five Ts’ui / Gathering
The Lake rises by welcoming and receiving Earth’s waters:
The King approaches his temple.
It is wise to seek audience with him there.
Success follows this course.
Making an offering will seal your good fortune.
A goal will be realized now.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
This is an important Convergence, and you must be part of it.
Look for the Center of this convergence.
Like waters running to the sea, like an astronomical convergence of planets revolving around the sun, you should let the gravity of this Center draw you near.
Others are also drawn to this Center, and among them you will find shared bonds and kindred spirits.
This tribal convergence will give you a clarity of purpose.
You will no longer be alone.
Six in the third place means:
Gathering together amid sighs.
Nothing that would further.
Going is without blame.
Slight humiliation.
Often a man feels an urge to unite with others, but the individuals around him have already formed themselves into a group, so that he remains isolated. The whole situation proves untenable. Then he ought to choose the way of progress, resolutely allying himself with a man who stands nearer to the centre of the group, and can help him to gain admission to the closed circle. This is not a mistake, even though at first his position as an outsider is somewhat humiliating.
31 – Thirty-One Hsien / Attraction
The joyous Lake is cradled by the tranquil Mountain:
The Superior Person takes great satisfaction in encouraging others along their journey.
He draws them to him with his welcoming nature and genuine interest.
Supreme success.
This course leads to marriage.
SITUATION ANALYSIS:
There is no greater natural law in the Cosmos than Attraction.
From the magnetic pull of an atom’s nucleus to the centrifugal force that spirals a galaxy, the face of the universe is shaped by Attraction.
On a human scale, it is Attraction that fuels procreation and furthers our species.
Yet it is also Attraction that spawns greed and covetousness, threatening our extinction.
Attraction is the underlying force of the situation in question.
You are refined or debased by the objects of your desire.
