“If your words have the strength of the infinite in them and you value them and they are virtuous, you are the greatest of the great. If you do not value your words, you have no value. Your own word is your value as a human being. Your word is your value. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Yogi Bhajan
Tao Te Ching – Verse 23 – Express yourself completely, then keep quiet
Tao Te Ching – Verse 23
Express yourself completely,
then keep quiet.
Be like the forces of nature:
when it blows, there is only wind;
when it rains, there is only rain;
when the clouds pass, the sun shines through.

Today: “You must choose to be useful in what brings satisfaction. Realize you are a work in progress. Living in this perspective produces growth of character and contentment.” – From the I Ching
Your act of living /
shows you your worth to the world /
unlimited growth
You must choose to be useful in what brings satisfaction. Realize you are a work in progress. Living in this perspective produces growth of character and contentment.
The joyous Lake spans on and on to the horizon:
The Superior Person renews and expands his Spirit through heart-to-heart exchanges with others.
This is the sign of true companionship.
The principals in this situation exchange energy, ideas and feelings, constantly invigorating and encouraging each other to new heights of Spiritual achievement and Self-discovery.
Joyousness that is weighed is not at peace.
After ridding himself of mistakes a man has joy.
Often a man finds himself weighing the choice between various kinds of pleasures, and so long as he has not decided which kind he will choose, the higher or the lower, he has no inner peace. Only when he clearly recognizes that passion brings suffering, can he make up his mind to turn away from the lower pleasures and to strive for the higher. Once this decision is sealed, he finds true joy and peace, and inner conflict is overcome.
Whirlwinds and Thunder:
When the Superior Person encounters saintly behavior, he adopts it; when he encounters a fault within, he transforms it.
Get ready to ride a tide of accelerated growth toward self-actualization.

Today: “The blend of your soul, mind, and body makes you talk.” Yogi Bhajan
“The blend of your soul, mind, and body makes you talk. This is the art of vibration. If your mind is off you cannot talk sensibly. If your soul is off you don’t exist. Hence, it is a blending of the three that makes you vibrate. You vibrate anyway, but vibration in the form of communication is effectively recognized when you talk. Word was with God and communicated with maya to create this universe and its beauty. Word is with you. Communicate to create your own world.” Yogi Bhajan
Tao Te Ching – Verse 22 – If you want to become whole, let yourself be partial. If you want to become straight, let yourself be crooked.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 22
If you want to become whole,
let yourself be partial.
If you want to become straight,
let yourself be crooked.
If you want to become full,
let yourself be empty.
If you want to be reborn,
let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything,
give everything up.
Today: “In the throws of uncertainty, carefully consider your next moves. Look at how past actions have turned out. Proceed cautiously and deliberately.” – From the I Ching
Recapitulate /
Experience guides you on /
Slowly. Contemplate
In the throws of uncertainty, carefully consider your next moves. Look at how past actions have turned out. Proceed cautiously and deliberately.
Fire sparks more Flames:
The Superior Person holds an inner Fire that ignites passion in every heart it touches, until all the world is enlightened and aflame.
A Promethean flame is delivering light and heat to the situation at hand.
This radiance will cause such an alchemical transformation of circumstances that the changes will seem magical, miraculous.
Yet they are only shifts of perspective and attitude that bring clarity.
The passions kindled by this fire must be harnessed and used judiciously, or they threaten to consume your hopes and dreams.
The footprints run criss-cross.
If one is seriously intent, no blame.
It is early morning and work begins. The mind has been closed to the outside world in sleep; now its connections with the world begin again. The traces of one’s impressions run criss-cross. Activity and haste prevail. It is important then to preserve inner composure and not to allow oneself to be swept along by the bustle of life. If one is serious and composed, he can acquire the clarity of mind needed for coming to terms with the innumerable impressions that pour in. It is precisely at the beginning that serious concentration is important, because the beginning holds the seed of all that is to follow.
The Superior Person waits for wisdom and clarity before exacting Justice, then lets no protest sway him.
Find satisfaction in small gains.
To move constantly forward is good fortune to a Wanderer.

Tao Te Ching – Verse 21 – The Master keeps her mind always at one with the Tao; that is what gives her her radiance.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 21
The Master keeps her mind
always at one with the Tao;
that is what gives her her radiance.
The Tao is ungraspable.
How can her mind be at one with it?
Because she doesn’t cling to ideas. Continue reading “Tao Te Ching – Verse 21 – The Master keeps her mind always at one with the Tao; that is what gives her her radiance.”
Today: “If you don’t like what’s happening, begin to know yourself. Aspire to know others. Release old habits. Allow new views.” – From the I Ching
Let go of fixed views /
see others within yourself /
be inspiration
If you don’t like what’s happening, begin to know yourself. Aspire to know others. Release old habits. Allow new views.
Heaven’s motherlode waits within the Mountain:
The Superior Person mines deep into history’s wealth of wisdom and deeds, charging his character with timeless strength.
The tusk of a gelded boar.
Good fortune.
Here the restraining of the impetuous forward drive is achieved in an indirect way. A boar’s tusk is in itself dangerous, but if the boar’s nature is altered, the tusk is no longer a menace. Thus also where men are concerned, wild force should not be combated directly; instead, its roots should be eradicated.
The gentle Wind ripples the Lake’s surface:
The Superior Person finds common ground between points of contention, wearing away rigid perspectives that would lead to fatal error.
The subject of this hexagram discovers a key to Tranquility by first gaining insight into his own nature, then turning that vision outward.
By resolving inner conflicts and being at peace with himself, he learns to gain insight into others.
In effect, he enters another, sees with the other’s eyes, listens with the other’s ears, feels with the other’s heart.
He then returns to his own center, with new perspective and understanding.

Deep Waters Penetrated and drawn to the surface:
The Superior Person refreshes the people with constant encouragement to help one another.
One draws from the well
Without hindrance.
It is dependable.
Supreme good fortune.
The well is there for all. No one is forbidden to take water from it. No matter how many come, all find what they need, for the well is dependable. It has a spring and never runs dry. Therefore it is a great blessing to the whole land. The same is true of the really great man, whose inner wealth is inexhaustible; the more that people draw from him, the greater his wealth becomes.
Wind follows upon wind, wandering the earth, penetrating gently but persistently:
The Superior Person expands his influence by reaffirming his decisions and carrying out his promises.

Tao Te Ching – Verse 19
Throw away holiness and wisdom,
and people will be a hundred times happier.
Throw away morality and justice,

Throw away industry and profit,
and there won’t be any thieves.

Today: “You have seen the best of times and the worst of times (so far). You are your own deliverance as you no longer feed the snake, swallowing his own tail. Unless you’re a complete fool, you won’t be fooled again.” – From the I Ching
No longer feeding /
the snake swallowing his tail /
don’t be fooled again
You have seen the best of times and the worst of times (so far). You are your own deliverance as you no longer feed the snake, swallowing his own tail. Unless you’re a complete fool, you won’t be fooled again.
Warmth and Light are swallowed by Deep Darkness:
The Superior Person shows his brilliance by keeping it veiled among the masses.
Stay true to your course, despite the visible obstacles ahead.
Not light but darkness.
First he climbed up to heaven,
Then plunged into the depths of the earth.
Here the climax of the darkening is reached. The dark power at first held so high a place that it could wound all who were on the side of good and of the light. But in the end it perishes of its own darkness, for evil must itself fall at the very moment when it has wholly overcome the good, and thus consumed the energy to which it owed its duration.
A Promethean flame is delivering light and heat to the situation at hand.
This radiance will cause such an alchemical transformation of circumstances that the changes will seem magical, miraculous.
Yet they are only shifts of perspective and attitude that bring clarity.

“There are two ways of earning a universal consciousness. One is through hardship; the other is an easy way—mantra. But there is difficulty with mantra yoga. Relating the mantra to the Infinite Being and the finite, and creating that direct connection, opens up the heart magically, but to have the mental fluctuation for that capacity is a little difficult.” Yogi Bhajan
