“Man has to understand within his own depth that within himself is the word which he has only to experience within himself. Without that, there is no mukti, liberation. A teacher can always give you technical know-how. He can teach you techniques, but not the experience. He will stand by, then the experience will happen. Be kind to him, love him, respect him, give him reverence, give him presents, whatever; I don’t care what you do because you are doing it only to satisfy yourself.” Yogi Bhajan

Tao Te Ching – Verse 76 – Men are born soft and supple; dead, they are stiff and hard. Plants are born tender and pliant; dead, they are brittle and dry.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 76
Men are born soft and supple;
dead, they are stiff and hard.
Plants are born tender and pliant;
dead, they are brittle and dry.
Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible
is a disciple of death.
Whoever is soft and yielding
is a disciple of life.
The hard and stiff will be broken.
The soft and supple will prevail.
(translation by Stephen Mitchell, 1995)
-+-+-+-
While alive, the body is soft and pliant
When dead, it is hard and rigid
All living things, grass and trees,
While alive, are soft and supple
When dead, become dry and brittle
Thus that which is hard and stiff
is the follower of death
That which is soft and yielding
is the follower of life
Therefore, an inflexible army will not win
A strong tree will be cut down
The big and forceful occupy a lowly position
While the soft and pliant occupy a higher place
(translation by Derek Lin, 2006)
-+-+-+-
Be soft and be immortal.
Be the bully and be destroyed.
How many times must this lesson be taught?
(translation by Jeremy M. Miller, 2013)

“Action has a reaction equal and opposite; this is Newton’s law, which nobody should forget. If you eat more, you have indigestion. Whatever you do, you will be paid in equal terms; but when you subject your free will in the Will of the Lord the Creator, He will love you more than you expect Him to love. He will love you tenfold.” Yogi Bhajan

Today: “Dear ones, there are assets and there are liabilities. When you are young, you need food. If food is not available, you feel crazy…” Yogi Bhajan
“Dear ones, there are assets and there are liabilities. When you are young, you need food. If food is not available, you feel crazy. When you are adult, sex becomes the grip. If you don’t have satisfaction in that area, you go crazy. But when you are old, wisdom is your grip. If you don’t have wisdom in your head, you are crazy. These three eras are covered by these three assets.” Yogi Bhajan
Tao Te Ching – Verse 74 – If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 74
If you realize that all things change,
there is nothing you will try to hold on to.
If you aren’t afraid of dying,
there is nothing you can’t achieve.
Trying to control the future
is like trying to take the master carpenter’s place.
When you handle the master carpenter’s tools,
chances are that you’ll cut your hand.

Tao Te Ching – Verse 73 – The Tao is always at ease.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 73
The Tao is always at ease.
It overcomes without competing,
answers without speaking a word,
arrives without being summoned,
accomplishes without a plan.
Its net covers the whole universe.
And though its meshes are wide,
it doesn’t let a thing slip through.

Tao Te Ching – Verse 72 – When they lose their sense of awe, people turn to religion. When they no longer trust themselves, they begin to depend upon authority.
Tao Te Ching – Verse 72
When they lose their sense of awe,
people turn to religion.
When they no longer trust themselves,
they begin to depend upon authority.
Therefore the Master steps back
so that people won’t be confused.
He teaches without a teaching,
so that people will have nothing to learn.

Today: “He whom the Creator has blessed with the gift of tolerance and nonreaction is the most blessed one.” Yogi Bhajan
He whom the Creator has blessed with the gift of tolerance and nonreaction is the most blessed one. For do you know when you don’t react you are immediately identified as a God? When you react you are known. When you don’t react you are unknown. If you are trying to find the Unknown, all you have to do is not react. There is only one simple thing you have to practice: Do not react.” Yogi Bhajan

Today: “You all know the truth. If you think you can learn what the truth is or what righteous living is, you are mistaken.” Yogi Bhajan
“You all know the truth. If you think you can learn what the truth is or what righteous living is, you are mistaken. You all know what righteous living is and what truth is. Everybody knows it, but we can’t live up to it; some of us do not want to live up to it. Now, the question is why can’t we live up to it? We are emotionally involved with each other. When our emotional involvement seems absolutely perfect, it is very difficult for any one of us to pull ourself out of it. And when you are not out of the mud, how can you see what you are doing?” Yogi Bhajan
